I have chosen to research the topic play! I know that this topic is something that relates to early childhood education and is very important. For me, it seems to be the word that no one wants to talk about sometimes. It almost seems like people just don’t like it and don’t think that it is really vital to young children’s development. I want to look at this topic on a deeper scale. My 3 subtopics are: (1) What are the different types of play., (2) How can play benefit young children?, and (3) How does play effect a child’s brain development?. Since play is so important in my field of study, I would like to really research it a little deeper.
Walden Colleagues….Do you have any advice or insight that might help me with this research? Do you know of any resources that might be helpful with this journey? Do you have any suggestions on a better way to go about this topic or subtopics? I want to get some feedback from you!
So far, I have looked into a couple websites to assist me in my research. I will use this week’s knowledge and chart to better assist me on deciding whether or not, it is high-quality and useful. www.earlychildhoodnews.com/earlychildhood/article_view.aspx?ArticleID=240
Felicia, I also will like more information about play because play is an important part of the early childhood field. I don't understand why they are trying to take play completely out. We learned a lot when we were in kindergarten from play. Children can still learn and play at the same time.
